ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: HUNTER LONGE

Hunter has physically altered the gallery space with a coherent confusion of video, drawing, and sculpture. This multi-practice suggests a simulacrum of time space contrasts, where disciplines leak through into each other’s boundaries. His interest in the mathematics of rationalization and progress as a syndrome has lead to this experimentation with architectonic and psychological transformations “the physical world as idea and the exhibition space as a metaphysical proposition.
Hunter received his BFA from California College of the Arts in 2008. His work has been exhibited at The Luggage Store Gallery, Johansson Projects, Oakland, and Show Cave Night Gallery in Los Angeles. He currently lives and works in San Francisco and is an avid member of Drone Dungeon Collective. The group recently completed an installation on Market Street through the Art in Storefronts program. Upcoming exhibitions of the collective will be at Krowswork and¨Receiver galleries.
