DSS
work in both acoustic and electronic mediums. Their sonic palate is composed of mixer feedback, DIY and custom hacked circuitry, FM transmitters, and (amplified) viola. Performances involve a mix of free improv, graphic score interpretation, and audience interaction. At the crux of their performance practice is the use of FM transmitters which serve to tie each of our instruments together and diffuse the notion of control amongst the group.

Pink Canoes = loud. improvised. and then quiet. and still improvised. everyone plays instruments. sometimes they don’t play their instruments and then play them later on. other times their instruments are knob-oriented and feed back a lot.
